A Technical overview of AFC services with links to sites and pages of interest to administrators
There are a number of services which AFC manages on behalf of clients. We often have to test and monitor these services. Links listed below include some of the tools we use to perform this monitoring.
- SNMP
- AFC has registered the SNMP designation AFC for its own use
- Domain Name Registration
- We regularly use 123-reg.co.uk as our registrar for .eu, .uk, .com, .net, and .org domains (and a few others). In addition to domain registration at very competitive prices, they also provide a DNS hosting service and offer Web and Mail forwarding
- Berlios OSS Portal
- While we often use OSS development tools internally, there are times when we want to provide easier access to the OSS community at large. To meet these needs we can recommend Berlios.de as a valuable service.
- IPV6

In readiness for the exhaustion of IP addresses on the Internet, we have deployed IPV6 tunnels to most of our servers. These tunnels are provided by Sixxs IPv4 addresses are expected to be exhausted in 2012, www.ipv4countdown.com has a running countdown
- Plone CMS
- The Plone CMS and its host platform the Zope Applcaition Server, are our web deployment tools of choice.
